Lets get started.

Add saffron to fresh fruit and thick custard milk to create a delicious fruit salad with milk. It is one of the most popular fresh fruit desserts in India and is not only tastier but also very easy to prepare. You can  use as many  sweet fruits as you like in this recipe. This way the taste is not compromised. This recipe uses only  fresh fruit, but you can also use dried fruit as a filling for a richer flavor.

Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Serves: 6 servings

1 Banana
1/2 Apple
1 Chikoo (Sapodilla)
1/3 cup Pomegranate Seeds
1/3 cup Green Grapes (seedless)
3 cups Milk
2½ teaspoons Custard Powder
2-3 strands Saffron (Kesar) (optional)
3 tablespoons Sugar

Combine 1/2 cup milk, custard powder, and saffron in a bowl. Mix well to avoid formation of lumps.
step 1

Heat 2½ cups of milk in a saucepan over low heat. Add the milk cream mixture (prepared in step 1) and sugar. Stir constantly and bring  to a boil over medium heat.
step 2

Cook until milk thickens or about 8-10 minutes.

step 3

Extinguish flame and transfer  to a bowl. Cool to room temperature and refrigerate for  12 hours.

step 4

Wash bananas, apples, chickoo (sapodilla) and grapes under running water and drain. Peel the banana  and cut it into small pieces. If the grapes are too large, cut them in half, otherwise leave them alone. Peel, peel and cut the apples into small pieces. Chika peel, cut in half, discard seeds and cut into small pieces.

step 5

Place all chopped fruit and pomegranate seeds in a large bowl and cover with chilled milk.

Milk fruit salad is ready. Serve cold.

Tip & Options:

Add vanilla ice cream for a creamy finish.
Cut and add fruits just before serving to prevent them from turning black.

Taste: Delightful sweet taste of fresh fruit with milk, with a mouth-watering soft saffron aroma.
